Reporting to MIT's Vice President for Finance and as part of the office's senior leadership team, will lead and be responsible for overall Institute financial and control management with expenditures of approximately $2.6B.
Working closely with MIT's senior leadership, the controller will direct all financial and cost accounting activities for the achievement of operational and financial objectives; take strategic leadership initiative and ownership of providing accurate and timely financial information for use in MIT's complex internal financial reporting, planning and budgeting as well as external reporting and compliance; formulate and present findings and recommendations to MIT's senior management, ensuring Institute accounting procedures conform to GAAP; and foster and maintain relationships with MIT departments, labs and centers to promote a strong sense of financial collaboration while providing sound fiscal analysis and advice. The role also includes significant responsibility for reporting on MIT's growing international engagements, which will expand over time.
